Challenging Mountain Hunting

Deep in the massive mountains of Central Asisa, tucked in between China, Kazakhstan, Tadjikestan and Uzbekhistan, lies Kyrgystan. In this countray the mountain hunter, hungry for adventure, will find one of the world’s best ibex populations as well as a really good stock of Marco Polo sheep. Our hunting areas are situated in the Tian-Shan mountains in the remote, fairly deserted and difficult to access, far eastern part of the country. Here only a limited number of trophy hunts area carried out and wolves and snow leopards are the biggest threat to the mountain game.

The hunt for both ibex (subspecie Tien-Shan ibex) and Marco Polo (Ovis ammon polii) starts from base camps at an altitude of approx. 3,000 meters. You overnight in either cabins, mobile homes or the traditional gers, as the round Centralasian tents are called. All are heated and the food is simple, but plentiful and nourishing.

Our ibex hunts in Kyrgystan are very popular – first and foremost because you here get a lot of mountain hunting for your money. On the hunts it is possible, against a trophy fee, to hunt a second ibex as well as wolves, if you get the opportunity. The best period for the hunt is in September-November and in February. A hunting tour to Kyrgystan can in many ways be described as an expedition.

As a hunter you have to be both physically and mentally well prepared to maximize your chances of a world class mountain hunt – and don’t forget to practice with your rifle. But believe us; it’s worth the effort – Kyrgystan can offer you the hunting adventure of your life.
