Package hunts

The red deer population in Croatia is steadily growing. As these animals expand beyond their traditional habitats, they increasingly occupy hunting grounds made up of more than 50% cultivated farmland—areas that are not truly suited for managing this species.

Holders of such grounds are legally obliged to compensate farmers for damage caused to crops. To balance this, they request extraordinary culling quotas from county authorities. The aim is twofold: to reduce deer numbers and to generate funds to cover agricultural losses.

During these hunts, not only hinds and calves but also male deer of all categories may be harvested non-selectively—even during the rut. Among them are trophy stags, offered to the hunting tourism market under conditions different from those in top-tier, intensively managed red deer grounds.

Hunting in these areas is offered under the following terms:

  • Flat-rate pricing, often very attractive
  • Hunting conducted mainly from high seats
  • Guest decides on the evaluation and shot
  • Guests must be able to arrive within 48 hours of being notified that a suitable animal is present
  • Success rate: 70–80% over four hunting days
  • Hunting is carried out at the time, in the manner, and with the equipment approved by the hunting ground manager

To ensure guests benefit from the unique commercial advantage of this hunting model, our agency works with several hunting ground managers able to prepare hunts in areas where stags of higher trophy value may also be found.
