Small game hunting
For our agency, small game hunting means pursuing species that naturally inhabit and reproduce in the wild, in numbers that allow sustainable harvest.

Početkom sezone šljuka je brojnija u kontinentalnoj Hrvatskoj, dok dolaskom zime i zamrzavanjem tla odnosno stvaranjem snježnog pokrivača, šljuka migrira u toplije, južnije krajeve Jadranskog priobalja i otoka.

Training young dogs
Season: March and April. Training program lasts three days. The grounds can accommodate up to four hunters, each with one dog. Small game hunting grounds range between 2,000 and 3,000 hectares.
Available game: hare, pheasant, partridge, roe deer.
For our agency, small game hunting means pursuing species that naturally inhabit and reproduce in the wild, in numbers that allow sustainable harvest. Yet, given the ongoing decline of small game populations across both the EU and Croatia, how can this balance be achieved?
In Croatia, the average farm size is just 7.1 hectares. Small family farms cultivate a variety of crops on small parcels, creating a mosaic landscape that helps preserve populations of wild feathered and furred game. Thanks to this, it is still possible to find areas where hunters can, without hesitation, enjoy hunting quail, grey partridge, pheasant, hare, as well as woodcock, rock partridge, and wild rabbit.

Hunting right-holders in such areas dedicate substantial effort and resources to maintaining their grounds. Surpluses of game are rare, and offers for hunting are even rarer. Decisions are made only after spring population counts, with strict limits on the number of hunters, hunting days, and daily bag quotas.
As a result, these hunts are not available as a permanent hunting-tourism offer. The agency can only present them from May onward in the current hunting year.
